The Vivid Timeline

Capture the important moments of your life or business.

Capture a timeline.  Capture time.

You've hired us to create a historical, vivid timeline for you.  To begin the process, ask yourself a few questions.

Where will you post the finished piece?

What message do you want that to send?

What do you want people to know about you (a personal timeline) or your business (a business timeline)?

Bring 5 - 10 events of note

You should identify at least 5 and no more than 10 events that you want to discuss.  We will have just an hour to go through them, so know which ones are most important to you.

Consider a colleague

Some people find it more helpful to have someone to talk the content through with.  Meeting with them before the session to review what you will be covering can organize and clarify the content.  Our Illustrator will be focused on drawing and the best images come from an uniterrupted presentation or discussion, so you may want to consider inviting that colleague to sit with you during the session as well.  Remember that the artwork is done live so you want your first story to be your best story.

What to expect

We will spend a few minutes getting to know each other and just ensuring that you're ready to go.  We'll ask you a few clarifying questions and get a sense of the session content.  We may ask you for some images that may come to mind when you think through the timeline or color palettes.  We'll talk you through how the session will run and then get started.

The session

Once we start the session, we will take it through to conclusion.  If you need a break mid-session, that's fine, but we do find the best work is done when you talk it straight through.

What should you talk about?

For each event you want to include, think about and be prepared to go through:

  • Name the event
  • What is its significance to you or your business?
  • How has it affected you or your business?
  • What will this event mean to you or your business long-term?

Natural is better

The more than you can make the session like a presentation or an uniterrupted conversation, the better.  Then sit back and let us do our work.
